Autumn 1936, a young communist from Liverpool, leaves his country to intervene in the spanish civil war side by side among anarchist comrades. Equality between people, abolishment of social classes and collectivization of the land are the ideals to defend. But soon David realizes that the enemies are not only on the fascist side: the tensions between the leftist factions that supported the recently constituted republic, materialized in direct confrontation with his new friends, are a direct threat to victory.
The movie portrays how the difficulties of articulating ideological diversity in the midst of the spanish civil war that was the cause and consequence of this historical context, with genuine dialogues and characterization of the peasant population of that time.

It will be screened in its original version with Spanish and English audio, with added English subtitles. At the end, there will be a group discussion.
