Our most attended activity and long-lived one. In this book reading club we read non-ficiton books, from anarchism to ecology, gender studies, post-colonialism, philosophy, etc...
Chapters are read by the attendants before coming to the meetings, and there, regular participants of the group will present the chapters selected for that meeting, providing a review, insights, interesting topics, etc, which will set up a common knowledge grounding on which we can accomodate in order to have some-how structured discussion at the end of each meeting.
Every second Thursday at 19:00, always announced in the calendar and on this web.
In order to get in touch with the attendants, request a chapter presentatinon, propose changes and texts to read, you can subscribe to the email list here https://list.d-zona.cz/listinfo/critical-readings
We show films about social movements from different places and dealing with different social social issues.
Almost every Tuesday at 19:00.
Realizing the need to take a closer look at societies around the world that are too often overlooked by the mainstream media, we are reading the literature of countries around the world to gain a better understanding of their history, societies, ways of thinking, and political changes, as well as the struggles of people hoping to gain more rights and freedom.
Once per month, normally last Thursday of the month. Please check the calendar for the next meeting.
Toxic Masculinity Group
This group's aim is to set up a safe space for the (self-)reflexion of masculinity in our society and the consequences in the oppression of woman, man themselves, or anyone. This exercise seeks to highlight toxic behaviour of men, which has been idolized by our patriarchal society through history.
The group meets once per month, on agreement. Please check the calendar or subscribe to the news list here https://list.d-zona.cz/listinfo/toxic-masculinity-group
Domof-mooy is a series of events starting in October 2020, focused on enabling foreigners living in Prague to understand the local social space better: its history and present. The series is not meant to be simply foreigner-oriented education - its ambition is to create a fruitful discussion among individuals of any origin, Czech people included. After all, there is no clear frontier between "local" and "foreign", as concepts like "home" or "origin" are a complex issue. This is why both "foreigners" and "locals" might benefit from discussing our shared environment.
All activities are run collectively following non hierarchical principles, for free or by donation, according to D-Zona's values.
